Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name given to Winona Laura Hoowitz. Her birthplace was within Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her in honor of her hometown. The father of her Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's dad was born into a Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. The actress has a younger brother Uria as well as two half siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. Ryder made the move with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven.
