Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with gospel, soul music and R&B. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway through The Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. Even though she lives in Atlanta now, Sunshine is originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she began her career as a musician by playing and singing at the church in town. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical instruction began with the Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single to feature her vocals was Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released only in Japan It has been remixed since by many producers and remains an essential part of her live set. She also lent her voice to the music of The Fighting Temptations. She was named the main keyboardist of Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to serve as Choral Director of Dreamgirls the stage show in Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine rose to prominence throughout the four performances in The 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later invited to sing during Barack Obama's Inauguration in 2009.
